Hey there, I know it’s been a while since I last wrote anything, but there is rarely any time due to our busy schedule here at the network.
I’ve decide to write about a couple of things that are on my mind, the first being this Kimbo Slice fiasco. I know there is a ton of hate for Kimbo right now and I don’t understand why. Does anyone in the world think he’s a top MMA fighter? No, they don’t, so why must we constantly criticize the guy for being able to market himself and make a dollar while doing so. Does anyone know the names Levon Lagvilava or Hiroya Takada? No? OK well how about this one, Tsuyoshi Kohsaka? I’ll let you in on a little secret Ladies and Gentlemen; they were Fedor Emelianenko’s first three opponents. If you break things down even further, you will see that it was Lagvilava’s second pro fight and Takada’s first pro fight, when they faced Fedor. In contrast, Kohsaka had more than 30 pro fights when he fought Fedor, who by the way was only in his 3rd pro fight.
Yeah I know Fedor wasn’t getting the press that Kimbo is getting but whatever, why hate? I think Mauro said it best when he said Kimbo deserves a mulligan. I think we should take the necessary measures to educate the mainstream audience in order to show them what an excellent sport this is. Let’s think twice about burying Kimbo right away; everyone deserves a second chance to redeem themselves. Sometimes a loss can change a fighter for the better, and we have seen this in the past with other fighters. Nonetheless things will work themselves out in the ring. It is from that point, that we’ll see if Kimbo truly is dedicated to the sport. Hypothetically speaking, if Fedor was hung out to dry after only a handful of fights, we would all be very sad.
Point number deux. Why in the world is the WEC folding their heavier weight classes? Again it simply makes zero sense. I get it! They want Paulo Filho to fight Anderson Silva because they are running out of top middleweights for him to fight. What happens if Anderson runs through him just like he has done with all the rest of the 185’rs in the UFC? Nothing. What this would do is totally screwed a legit “What if” match up; and waste a division you could be building so that maybe more guys could challenge “The Spider” down the road. I think that Zuffa is not looking at the bigger picture, and that picture is entertainment value. Not everyone is going to become a champion, just like every hockey player playing in the NHL doesn’t win the Stanley cup.

Once again its not hard to tell who is the Kimbo lovers. There is more people that love the guy other than hate him. He came from nothing and found a way to market him self. What you and everyone else has to learn that this is mma, Not pro wrestling. Jarred Shaw is not Vince Mcmahon. Also I am going to forget that I ever read this particular blog because I almost threw up when I read Kimbo and Fedor in the same sentence. where does anybody get off comparing the two, It's sickening.

The only comparison between the two he is making is about the loss... Fedor is the greatest fighter ever... Period. But what if the same thing happened to him after he lost tho? What if everyone turned on him... We wouldn't have gotten to see him reel off 25 or so straight victories and decimate anyone and everyone in his path. And we wouldn't get to see the upcoming Fedor vs Arlovski match... which is awesome cuz they are my favorite two fighters. So, all because Kimbo got outclassed, doesn't mean he can't learn to be a better fighter, he just needs to understand that he can't stand and bang with everyone... He needs to develop skills to win, so that someday when ppl talk about Kimbo it won't be about his YouTube fights, but about his high quality cage performances against legit and good opponents... it's like 10 steps back for him on this loss, but that doesn't mean he can't take 11 steps forward if he's dedicated.

I never once said Kimbo wasnt dedicated to the sport, I know he is. Fact is you cant compare the two guys on any level wins or losses. On another note as long as Kimbo is blind enough to perform for Elite XC he will always be protected and you wont see him in action with a top contender. He'll always be Kimbo the cash machine. My problem is not with Kimbo, It's with the clowns that are promoting his ass. It's alright to pay a guy to stand up in a fight , thats horseshit. Kimbo is a sideshow circus act and thats it. Thats all he ever will be not cause he's a bad fighter, but hes blind to his surroundings. If he's gonna stay in this type of buisness he should call Dana for the ultimate fighter, Or Vince McMahon for a job with the wwe because at the rate he's goin with Elite XC they will single handly kill MMA.

Chris Fifield, He was speaking about the losses Hypothetically! If you can't understand what is being written, then may be you should keep your empty comments to yourself. Elite XC has promoted Kimbo in such a way because he has personallity and they needed a marketable figure to attract casual viewers just like you Bitch.

Love these internet tough guys, First off I fought MMA, still train and I have been promoting fights for six damn years. On top of that i'm working on my second province to sanction the sport. If anyones a bitch here i think it may be you. I think dana said it best when he said they are building a promotion around a guy that cant fight. i cant wait for EXC to go under and shut everybody up for good.

i hate kimbo ive hated him since day one he is bad for mma and sucks at it he is not an athlete at all witch is where the sport is sopose to be going he makes it look bad especialy on open circuit tv and on a side not i cant stand his personality what so ever there are plenty of good personalitys to market your promotion around that can actually fight well take an ex ufc vet with a reasonable record and let him destroy all your heavyweights i like watching mma if i wanted to watch a bar fight i would go to the bar you want to say its about entertainment well get wsome better fuckin production goping on during your fuckin shows

seriosly put two tvs togeather take any other promotion then putthe ufc on as well and put the fighters aside and see witch one you like more its tv gold and when elite xc fails i hoipe they have a good severence package for kevin ferguson becuase hes going no where else where hell be protected
