Well the Affliction show has come and gone and I  want to take some time to give credit where it is deserved.  I know a lot of people are going to say that I work for Affliction so I am biased about the show and will say that it was the best ever only because I now work for them.  Well that is not how I am.  I told you in my first blog that I will tell you the truth, good and bad, and that is exactly what I will do.

I really have to give credit to the guys at Affliction for putting on a show like they did in their very first attempt.  I had personally spoken with them and told them that they were crazy for getting into the promotion of fights and that they should start off slowly if they were going to get into it at all.  Well they didn't listen to me and because of that they brought the greatest Heavyweight fighter in MMA to North America and let the fans that know the sport of MMA get a chance to see Fedor do what he has done so many times before overseas, just beat the living piss out of a very good fighter like its easy, a walk in the park, just another thing he does in between getting a gallon of milk and picking up the morning paper. 

If you like fights, then you were able to see some really great fights on the Affliction Banned show.  Fedors 36 second dismantling of Tim Sylvia was incredible, the war that took place between Andrei Arlovski and Big Ben Rothwell was probably the fight of the night.  Josh Barnett showed just how technically skilled he is by getting his revenge and knocking out an always dangerous Pedro Rizzo.  Babalu Sobral vs. Mike Whitehead showed just how far MMA fighters have come in becoming complete Mixed Martial Artists, with both starting out in the sport as great wrestlers, but now showing how they have complete games.  All of the fighters that night should be commended for coming out and giving their all, because I think that the fights were for the most part good, some were great, and one was astonishing.

The crowd at the Honda Center was great.  The place was packed and loud as hell, but that did not translate to the PPV that people saw in their homes.  The production really cut out the sound of the crowd which I feel needs to be left in more so the fans at home can understand just how crazy the crowd is going when the fights take place.  You really could not get a feel for how large or how loud the crowd at the Honda Center was that night and that is a shame.  The PPV also seemed very dark like they were trying to hide the crowd.  I can understand this if you had an empty house with nobody at your event, but that was not the case at all for Affliction Banned.  The house was packed.  There were many things that took place on the production side that I would personally change if I could. 

I want to thank everyone that has contacted me or written nice words of praise about my work that night.  I truly appreciate it.  The truth of the matter is I know that I have a long way to go before I have a true grasp of what I am doing.  Some people have come out and said that I was better than Joe Rogan and that is simply not true.  Joe does a fabulous job color commentating for the UFC.  He brings excitement to the fights; simply by showing the he loves what he's doing and loves the sport of MMA.  Some day I hope to be as good as Joe is, but I know that I have a long way to go and a lot of hard work to put in to get there.  But I will with time and effort so I look forward to the challenge.
