Pride Fighting Championships veteran Mike Russow, trying his hand at headlining a major event, checked in at 243.2 pounds for his match with Jason Guida (241.5) at the Adrenaline MMA premiere on Saturday at the Sears Centre in Chicago. The 24 other fighters scheduled to compete also made weight successfully at Friday's official weigh-in.

Guida (17-15), a former middleweight, was booked as a late replacement for the injured Jeff Monson. The brother of former Strikeforce lightweight champion and current UFC mainstay Clay Guida, the Mokena, Ill., native will enter the bout on a two-fight winning streak. Guida has not competed in more than a year, as he has been away from competition since his submission victory against Cristiano Machado in March 2007. Ten of his 17 career wins have come by submission, and he counts victories over UFC veterans Marvin Eastman and Ron Faircloth among his conquests.

A Chicago police officer, Russow (9-1) has won five consecutive fights since his submission loss to Sergei Kharitonov in February 2007. The 31-year-old Chicagoan last appeared in December, when he submitted Roman Zentsov in Japan. Russow has secured six of his nine wins by submission.

UFC veterans Terry Martin (16-4), Forrest Petz (13-5), Brian Gassaway (28-17-2) and Jeff Cox (9-5) are all slated to compete on the undercard, along with International Fight League mainstays Bart Palaszewski (28-11) and Rory Markham (13-4).
