UFC, Pride Fighting Championships and EliteXC veteran Phil Baroni will battle British upstart Scott Jansen at Cage Rage 27: Step Up on Saturday, July 12 at Wembley Arena in London. The bout will mark Baroni's debut at welterweight.
Baroni (10-10) has lost three consecutive fights to Joey Villasenor, reigning Icon Sport middleweight champion Kala Kalohe Hose and former Strikeforce middleweight titleholder Frank Shamrock. Known for his pre-fight trash talking, the 32-year-old Long Island, N.Y., native owns knockout victories against one-time UFC middleweight champion Dave Menne, Amar Suloev, Ikuhisa Minowa, Yuki Kondo and Ryo Chono -- one of only two men to finish reigning UFC 185-pound kingpin Anderson Silva.
Jansen (3-2), a veteran of the Cage Rage Contenders promotion, will carry a two-fight winning streak into the match. He has secured all three of his wins by knockout or technical knockout and finished Jody Cotham in just 10 seconds at Cage Rage Contenders 7 in November. Jansen last fought in February, when he forced a corner stoppage against Jason Barrett at a Cage Rage Contenders show

I guess Baroni needs the paycheck. But I'll believe it when I see it. And as you said, even if he does, I doubt he'll survive round one. I hope they have a Medivac waiting for him in the parking lot!
F**k Baroni man. He's a piece of s**t.
I think these promotions recognize that alot of people like to see a loud mouth jerk like Baroni get his mouth shut over, and over again. We're all watchin' Phil......keep those tears flowin' buddy.
